IT Trackside Support Engineer – Formula 1 Team

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused IT Trackside Support Engineer to join a Formula 1 team based in Brixworth.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Formula 1 enthusiast with experience in an IT Support / Service Desk environment to provide high-quality infrastructure and network support in a demanding, customer-focused environment.
The successful candidate will demonstrate an excellent customer service attitude, hold an ITIL Foundation certificate, and have a strong working knowledge of ITIL. You will be working within a fast-paced and technically demanding environment where challenging deadlines and high service expectations are the norm.
The service is delivered through both the Service Desk and IT Support functions, making excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a professional approach essential.
Excellent spoken and written English is required.
Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will:
- Provide first-class IT operational support across the Trackside and TestOps areas of the business.
- Support and maintain IT services used by key business stakeholders.
- Work closely within a small, highly capable team to deliver a high level of IT support.
- Complete an intensive period of shadowing and training before taking responsibility for providing dedicated 24x7 remote support to trackside staff during Formula 1 and Formula E race seasons.
- Manage competing priorities efficiently while maintaining and managing customer expectations.
- Apply a broad technical and customer-focused skill set to operational and project-based activities.
- Deliver services against demanding Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and challenging deadlines.
Key Deliverables
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Support and deliver technical solutions throughout all stages of the ITIL service lifecycle.
- Consistently exceed customer expectations while providing additional support and guidance to other Service Desk team members.
- Ensure all activities comply with defined processes, architectural principles, regulatory requirements, corporate compliance standards, and industry best practice.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, internal teams, and third-party suppliers.
- Take ownership of incidents, requests, and tasks from initial submission through to satisfactory resolution and customer agreement.
- Identify opportunities to enhance IT services, processes, and procedures, helping to improve quality, reliability, availability, security, and performance across the IT environment.
- Champion organisational change and contribute to continuous service improvement.
Operational Requirements
The role involves delivering both operational and project-based activities against strict deadlines and SLAs. Flexibility is therefore essential.
The successful applicant must be willing and able to provide out-of-hours maintenance and support, including trackside and race team support, on a rota basis.

Experience Required
Candidates should have experience and knowledge of:
- Windows 10 / 11 operating systems
- Mobile operating systems
- Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365
- Active Directory / Group Policy management
- Good knowledge of networking, including:
- Knowledge of storage systems
- Knowledge of performance and availability monitoring toolsets
Qualifications Required
- ITIL Foundation
- Degree or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
The following would be advantageous:
- Microsoft Certifications
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- A very keen interest in Formula 1 / Formula E Motorsport
