The role is well suited to someone early in their infrastructure career who has a solid technical foundation and is keen to develop skills in servers, virtualization, and private cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Server & Infrastructure Support
-
Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical and virtual servers.

Support routine server and storage tasks, including upgrades, patching, and basic troubleshooting.
-
Help maintain infrastructure hardware and assist with lifecycle activities such as installs and decommissioning.
Virtualization & Private Cloud (Support-Level)
-
Support virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V in line with existing designs.
-
Assist senior engineers with private cloud environments (e.g. OpenStack, KVM, or VMware vCloud).
-
Help configure and support Proof of Concept (POC) servers for testing and validation.
Cloud Migration & Projects
-
Assist with cloud-to-on-prem migration activities (e.g. AWS), following defined plans and procedures.

Support small infrastructure projects or defined work packages under supervision.
Monitoring, Automation & Improvement
-
Monitor system performance and report issues or capacity concerns to senior team members.

Help identify gaps or improvement opportunities in existing configurations and processes.

Travel between client sites as required (own transportation required).
Required Skills & Experience
-
1–3 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure, servers, or virtualization environments.

-
Understanding of core infrastructure concepts (servers, storage, networking fundamentals).
-
Willingness to learn private cloud and virtualization technologies.

Good documentation and organisational skills.
-
English speaking and writing ability.
-
Able to work on-site and travel between locations (must have own transportation).
Desirable (Not Essential)
-
Exposure to OpenStack, KVM, or private cloud platforms.
-
Basic scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
-
Familiarity with monitoring tools or ticketing systems.
-
Interest in developing a career in infrastructure or cloud engineering.
Summary
This is a junior-level infrastructure role offering hands-on experience with servers, virtualization, and private cloud environments in a supported, team-based setting. It is ideal for candidates looking to build practical infrastructure skills rather than take on senior design or architecture responsibility.
