Operations Manager – OT Infrastructure / Senior SCCM & Microsoft AD Administrator

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee OT infrastructure operations while providing L3 expertise in Microsoft SCCM/MECM and Active Directory. The role focuses on maintaining stable, secure, and reliable industrial IT environments, ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations, and delivering high-quality endpoint and identity management services.
Key Responsibilities
OT Infrastructure Operations
- Take ownership of OT infrastructure operations and service availability.
- Ensure stable operation of critical industrial and plant infrastructure with minimal downtime.
- Coordinate and resolve incidents across technical teams.
- Manage changes in production environments following strict governance.
- Collaborate with plant operations, engineering, IT, cybersecurity, and external vendors.
- Monitor operational risks, ageing infrastructure, recurring issues, and dependencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation, escalation procedures, and operational standards.
- Improve service quality, infrastructure resilience, and operational consistency.
SCCM & Endpoint Management
- Provide L3 support for Microsoft SCCM/MECM infrastructure.
- Manage software deployment, OS deployment, patch management, application distribution, collections, compliance baselines, and endpoint health.
- Troubleshoot SCCM client communication, deployment failures, content distribution, boundary configuration, Software Center, WSUS/SUP integration, and reporting issues.
- Monitor SCCM infrastructure components and support monthly patch deployment, compliance validation, and remediation activities.
Active Directory Administration
- Deliver L3 administration and support for Microsoft Active Directory.
- Manage users, groups, organizational units, Group Policies, permissions, delegation, and authentication services.
- Resolve account lockouts, replication issues, authentication failures, GPO conflicts, and computer object problems.
- Maintain directory security, access governance, and compliance with organisational standards.
Incident, Change & Operations Management
- Handle complex incidents related to SCCM, Active Directory, endpoint management, and software deployment.
- Act as the escalation point for critical P1/P2 incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive improvements.
- Execute controlled infrastructure changes with testing, rollback planning, and post-implementation validation.
- Coordinate with desktop, server, security, application, and network teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Track patch compliance and deployment success while producing operational reports and dashboards.
Governance & Compliance
- Maintain SOPs, knowledge articles, deployment standards, and operational documentation.
- Ensure compliance with endpoint security, access management, and directory administration policies.
- Support audits by providing operational records, patch compliance, and change documentation.
- Drive process improvements and standardisation across endpoint and identity management services.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with Microsoft SCCM/MECM.
- Strong Microsoft Active Directory administration experience.
- Good knowledge of Group Policy, WSUS/SUP, software deployment, endpoint patching, client troubleshooting, and AD permissions.
- Experience managing enterprise endpoint environments and identity services.
- Good understanding of OT infrastructure, including Windows/Linux servers, virtualization, networking, firewalls, remote connectivity, backup and recovery, and site infrastructure.
- Knowledge of production-critical OT environments, including uptime requirements, controlled change windows, vendor dependencies, and operational safety.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
